New here and on a mission

Hi all. New to the forums and glad to be here!

Many moons ago I used to be obsessed with the whiskers and now I'm laying plans to giving my life ( as much as the wife tolerates) over to these wonderful fish again. This place seemed like a good start!
I used to fish mainly on the Wharfe in Yorkshire and has some limited success but I was more than often leaving happy if I just caught a chub! Made a few pilgrimages to the Trent too and had a lot of good times but life happens and suddenly its 20 years without getting a line wet.

Nowadays I'm a bit further east and my local river will be the Yorkshire Derwent. I know its probably not going to be easy but I'm determined to find some spots and catch some barbel in my limited time off.

Ive given my wallet to the guys at the tackle shop and have a barebones roving kit again so now the scouting walks on the bankside begins. Hope to get to know a few of you and catch the odd Barbel on the way.

Too far narf for me, but welcome James
