Nash Nomad 2 Rod Sleeve?

John Cook

Senior Member
Afternoon All,

Just wondering if anyone uses the above 2 rod sleeve? It looks good because both rods are in seperate zipped padded sleeves unlike most that have a divider seperating the rods, downside it doesn't have an outside pocket for a landing net handle or banksticks:( I think that i have used most of the available rod sleeves Chub/Korum/Drennan and find them either to heavy or to flimsy with the padding. Any thoughts or opinions?:)

I use a shimano tribal one. I can get 3 made up rods in there and the landing net pole offers the rigid protection bit.

I've used the Drennan Super Specialist one now for a season and a half....Rods in good order, the devider does it's job and room for bank sticks and landing net pole in seperate pockets...no room for brolley if you carry one, I have a waterproof cape which is lighter to carry than an umbrella.

Bill,

I am using the super specialist at the moment its nice and light has the landing net handle pocket and the short one for banksticks and it doesn't have those whacking great reel compartments:rolleyes: but i think its a little light on the padding:mad:

Simon i will check out the shimano.

The Nomad sleeves are an excellent bit of kit, nice touches like the lead pouch shows a well thought out product for carp rods on a barrow but as you mention John - without the pocket for net pole and banksticks it's not much use to the barbel angler. JRC do a quiver ( which could hold a brolly, net pole and banksticks etc ) with two padded rod sleeves attached which could be worth a look:

Hi Andrew,

I would rather try to find the one piece rod sleeve that has a little bit more padding than the drennan and with the outside pockets.

Anyone using the Trakker NXG 2 rod sleeve it looks good??

hi john, i use the trakker nxg 2 rod sleeve and can"t fault it, it is well padded, has a zipped landing net handle pocket and a seperate zipped bankstick pocket, also a small pouch at bottom to attach a brolly,i think there is a 12 and 13ft version mine being the 13 as i use tip and butt protectors on all my rods, hope this helps paul...

Paul,

Thank you for that info i will visit a stockist and check that one out further, thought it looked a good bit of kit on the website.
