Hi men,

Watching the series again as it's repeated on Quest . Was my thoughts a bit harsh on the original viewing ?, still annoying taking the rod etc , but not knowing what's happening during filming its hard.

Hi men,

I know what you mean , that's why I'm watching it again , but Sue gave me a sideways glance at some of it !.

Given John Bailey's pedigree, it is very disappointing on many levels...even though i am stuck at home i have given the repeat a miss - give me Matt Hayes chub fishing any day, much closer to what i do when i can get out.

Kids enjoyed it and thats the main thing. My cousins little boy always asks me to put it on the sky player when he comes round.

Bailey is abit pretentious but then again so are those who are crept out by him fishing with children.

Hi men,

Never thought there was anything wrong regarding him with kids Ash , but that's a good point about seeing it through the eyes of a child !.

My problem is that it does not remind me at all of MCGF, although i appreciate it is called 'In the Footsteps of...' perhaps there are some classics you cannot remake or it could just be my age :D But if it gets more youngsters interested in fishing and the environment - great.

I didn't like it, but then angling is a very hard thing to portray on film. John Bailey is not great in front of the cameras and I felt that it didn't really show what angling is all about !
Passion For Angling will always be the benchmark. I thought that Catching the Impossible was a well filmed series, but Martin Bowler unfortunately disk seem comfortable in front of the lens which is a real shame.

Paul D. exactly right mate its all about bringing youngsters into fishing and crabtree does fire up the youngsters imagination and young lads desire to catch one of tem BIG FISH (anything bigger than bleak and gudgeon or minnows, you really caught the reasons right:)
