Hi all,

The chap that produced this short video emailed me today asking for some promotion and I thought it worthy of posting on the forum:

Cheers,

Isn't the Idle where the Ginger fisherman catches plenty? Thought the video was very humorous and well edited. Loved the self deprecating tone, and the John Wilson rod. More of this please.

Yes that’s correct. And a lot of it is free fishing.I’ve yet to fish that far upstream.

Loving the dour northern tones - captures the spirit of my fishing . . .'who's even bovvered?' Lovely poetry . . .

The Ginger's video makes me think Idle is really a productive river. At least the stretch he fishes is. I think there are two rods in the video, one is jw young and the later one is John Wilson.

He fishes an area that is fairly urban, plenty of Barbel would love to fish there. Love his approach to fishing, keeps it simple and real.
I really love the way he fishes and the swim as well. I get a bit bored of fishing the large river now, chunking a 3oz lead 40 yards and sit there for hours really not my thing.

I know, you need a day on the Wye when it fills up a bit, plenty of action. I must be the most impatient so called barbel angler, cant sit watching a motionless tip, I need to know there is at least a barbel in the river. I like fishing for bites with smaller baits and catch whatever comes along.

Really enjoyed that. Nicely shot & narrated.

Like John Cooper Clarke missed the punk scene and heroin, put on a gilet and some corduroys and went fishing instead. In a good way…
