Korda Supernatural Braid.

Had a look at a spool of Korda Supernatural Braid today in view of purchasing to use with my fluoro combi links but i was put off by its fine diameter worrying that it could cause mouth damage, anyone using it? had said problem with it?

I have used it, and as you say its very fine, so i bought 25lb BS, its very supple but when i paired it with my fluoro as in a combi link, i found that it cut my fluoro when i did a knot strength test. I have paired it with other monofils and it has been fine.
Because it cut my fluoro and the indifferent results i had for my knot strengths i dont use it any more, except in flood conditions when i can pair it with some mono of equivalent strength.
This is my experience with the braid, it might work for you and in all honesty i wish it had worked for me as i thought its properties were very good. Give it a go otherwise you will never know.

Jon, I dont use the albrite knot i use a small ring for making the rig so that wouldnt be a problem for me its the mouth damage that worries me....

Gary thanks for that maube my fears are unfounded...

Hi John,

Have not used this or looked at it, but how fine is it exactly? Is it finer than, say, 5/6lb high tech mono? If not, and you would happily use that for a hook link for trotting for barbel....then no probs mate :D

Cheers, Dave.

I have been using it for my combi links for carp fishing with no issues at all - mind you been using Gardner Tripwire instead of fluoro

Thanks lads feeling a little easier about using it now:)

Hi men,

Caught loads on it, no damage problems at all . I think barbel anglers experiment less than carp boys with things like this , I'm always on the look out for new products .

Thank you for that Mark, are you using the 18bs?

Hi men,

Yes mate, 18lb . I go through alot of hooklength matl , and often swap colour / bs depending on conditions .

Thanks lads i can now use it with confidence, yes it certainly looks a nice soft material with a tight weave and looks easy to work with...

Also been using this combination on my combi rigs.
12lb IQ with 18lb supernatural, not sure what the knots called, its the one on the korda website under combi rigz.
Amazes me as the knot doesn't look that trustworthy, yet you can pull up tree trunks with this rig, not been snapped up yet this season and no sign of any mouth damage.
Was worried now fished with confidence.

Thank you Stewart it looks and feels a nice material, thats probably the albright knot..

Just a slightly different slant on the subject!! I tye a normal knotless knot with my chosen braid but after passing the braid through the eye use a basic whipping knot (and a dab of super glue) to finish off leaving the eye free to tye my mono/flouro hooklink to! This gives me the best of both worlds just like the combi link but without the risks of tyeing mono to braid!
Just a thought!!
