Kelly kettle

There isn't a ban on wood burners. Just some new regulations requiring that all stoves sold from 2022 must adhere to low emissions standards, no new installation of open fires, and some new regs preventing wet crappy wood being sold from the places such as petrol station forecourts. All fairly sensible really.

Hi men

My cottage is miles from a gas supply access , not even on mains sewage 🙄 , and basically heat the whole place with a multi fuel stove in the living room , and backup cast iron electric radiators if it gets really cold. The fuel is called Stoveglow , and I'm contacting the company to find out the new ruling of this . I'm hoping the words used " wet wood " & " house coal " are exactly that 😏.
My Kelly kettle mostly ran off pinecones that I took with me 😋 , which sort of defeated the object really .

I don’t think you’ll have any worries Mark, if it’s the stuff I’m thinking of it’s designed for low emissions and to be burnt in smokeless zones.

In the event that you can’t use it, just build yourself a couple of decent sized logs stores, dead simple, and look into buying a load of quality hardwood cord lengths direct from a forestry contractor for about £25/tonne in bulk. Arbtalk has plenty of sellers advertising if you don’t know anyone. A basic entry level Stihl chainsaw and a splitting axe and your away. I find chopping wood very therapeutic, good thinking time and as well as top exercise. Having the excuse of escaping round the back to chop some wood when the house is full (3 daughters, and two stepsons) is worth its weight in gold!

Hi men ,

Not really barbel talk 😆😄😄, but iv got a locallish supplier that produces a product called Stoveglow made for multifuel stoves etc . It's been great since I changed over from similar products , stays in overnight , easy to regulate , hardly any ash . We do chuck the odd log on in the evening as they look lovely , the the Stoveglow stays in overnight . Fire has been lit for weeks now 🙂.

Anyway , back to fishing 😜😜😜😜😜

I had a kelly kettle for many years the original 1 litre with cork plug

I recently bought a Cobb kettle only to find its the exact same diameter and all I needed to have done was buy a Cobb adapter base for a fraction of the price and used the Kelly Aaaahggghh

How in the world can they enforce that law ? Go round estates & countryside night time checking smoke it’s everyone’s interest to burn good dry wood to get the best out of there burner
