Just dropped a D :(

Gutted!!
literally watched one of my shimano 4000Ds hit the concrete on my garage floor. Knocked it off my bench which stands a meter tall. Bent the bail arm, badly scuffed the front spool lip, scuffed the knuckle on the handle, chipped the powder coating. All cosmetic stuff mind apart from the spool. I’ve rubbed it smooth but it’s too deep a scuff to take out and could effect line release. So new spool it is. Oh well these things happen. It’s now a well used looking shimano D 😢

And the exclamation was....B******S?

I’m slightly dyslexic and initially misread the title thinking you had ‘dropped an E’ 🤣 🤘

My first thoughts were, block-down must be taking it’s toll on Richard, and blimey it’s a bit early in the day isn’t it!? 🤣

Ah well, so long as it’s only cosmetic, it’s a 4000d so you ain’t going to be selling it for a long long time. And looking on the bright side, at least you didn’t drop a 3500b on the workshop floor and haven’t got a damaged floor to repair!

I’m looking on the bright side that it didn’t belong to someone else. I’ve been doing quite a lot of service and minor repair stuff on other peoples reels. I’m glad it happened to mine.

Even legendary tough guys have their weak spots Joe....

Luckily it was a simple matter to get it repaired, with a free service thrown in as well .

That is what jigging for Pollack on a rock mark does to a 3500b. Makes a Barbel look quite tame really .

Blimey a broken 3500b..that’s a first for me. It’s like seeing Mike Tyson on the canvas after the Buster Douglas fight..

look on the bright side... it’s the perfect excuse to chuck those piles of junk in the bin and buy yourself a couple of ss2600,s the king of barbel reels 😂😂
Out of interest Terry, do they have a quick drag system or do they have be “doctored”?
