Got a new tackle box and rig pouch, Permit (£45), but all the rest was terminal tackle, suprising what you can spend at the start of the season......

Time to make some shiney new rigs.....:)

Nope,I'm a man of few vices (yer honest) and I'm proudly making rigs of all designs ready for the season and the multitude of fresh tactics I'm going to try......

2010-2011 will be the season of experimentation.....

In fact I hold many on here responsible for me having an expensive collection of "Goochy" terminal tackle, as all these rigs we keep talking about have got me going.....

I've got anti-ejection,PVA bag retaining, multi Braid, free running all sorts all over the place at the minute.....

Just a ****ter I've got to wait two weeks until I can fish.....

Andrew if I spot some with shiny new tackle on the BA god chance it will be you if you if spot an old fat bald bloke it could me good luck with the barbel mate ;)

Alan:)

Spent some money today on a landing net head - an ABU spoon folder. Quite nice but sure it won't stay standard for long.
Cheers

i went in today, result £14 quid on a bag of stench boilies and 2 floats....big spender....lol

Barbel anglers today are even easier to catch than barbel it seems. Just cast em summut new that they think they need.

i think all anglers are now, so much stuff about, most of it is not needed.

£20 for me, maggots and casters for tomorrows tench trip and a permit for my local club which I buy every year and hardly ever fish........You have to support your local club.

I guess it depends on what you need to replace/renew. A few spools of line at anything from a few pounds to £20 each, hooklink material at up to £20 a spool. hooks at typically £2 - £3 for 10. (When did hooks go metric, by the way? What happened to the good old dozen in a packet?) It's very easy to spend a lot without having much to show for it at the end..........

I shall be popping in to my local tackle shop this week and fully expect to spend up to £50 just replenishing hooks etc. Can be an expensive business these days!

Throw in the club memberships, which down here (Hants/Dorset) are running at around £150 a year each when you include night permits etc (and I don't use a third rod!), then it makes one wonder how much we do actually spend on our beloved sport each year. I suspect that for many who fish on a regular basis (unlike me), then an annual outlay of £500 - £1000 p.a. would not be excessive by the time that all the bait etc is factored in.

Still, it's only money - just don't telll the missus!
