Is 30 lb Amnesia to heavy a breaking strain for a hooklink ?

If you mean for Barbel then yes far too heavy. For Barbel I use 12 and 15lbs BS Amnesia clear. If you mean for sea fishing with larger hooks then it would be suitable.

Depends on how you intend using it , if its the boom on a combi rig then yes

As long as you use a much stronger mainline.
I recently bought some 35lb 8 strand braid
and it's far too thin for my liking! (0.25mm)
I'll need to go up to 60lb to get that.
Be interesting to see if Barbel would take a bait on the Amnesia though.
Presumably the Amnesia is for abrasion resistance. It's great for that.
