Well another season over, so how was your last day?

For me barbel where off the menu as A friend wanted to go piking and It was my turn to drive and his to choose venue/quarry.

We left very early 4am and arrived at the chosen venue at 7am. Setting up two rods each over a known deep drop off in the river that always holds a few fish. Despite brilliant sunshine for most of the day which has made my head today resemble a bright red lollipop we didnt have a sniff until about 11am.
Several brews from the KK later and it was almost time to leave. The witching hour did its usual thing and kicked in and 5 pike in total where acounted for and returned. The biggest being mine:D at 11lb 20z.

So come on, lets here about your pros and woes of the final fling........

A four hour session on the Nidd until 9 pm last night. Careful feeding and prep of my swim for an hour without wetting a line. Just about to cast in, and an otter popped its head up in my swim.....cough! :)

Anyways, one bite, one chub at 3 3/4 on stinky cheese paste.
A wonderful night. Equal to a nice chub was watcing a barn owl work the field nearby. It was so close at times I could nearly reach out and touch it.

I am going to miss this :)
