Hi folks
On a recent day session at Breinton on the Wye I wanted specifically to float fish. I was plagued with salmon parr. I was fishing a hefty wire stemmed Avon in a swim four to five feet deep, with the shot bulked 12 to 18 inches from the hook. I trotted maggot, elderberries, or corn. I loose fed the same & small balls of heavy ground bait laced with hook bait samples.
Do the parr occupy certain areas, do they muscle out coarse fish or is it just luck of the draw? Should I have kept clear of maggots? Any hints would be gratefully received, I blunted a lot of hooks on their boney jaws!
Cheers
