Hooklink material for the Trent

Guys and girls, I've lost 3 fish recently on the Trent due to line breakages, presumably due to all the rocks where I fish! Up to now I've been using Daiwa Sensor in 12lb for the mainline and 8lb for the hooklink but have had breakages in both. I've now switched out the mainline for 15lb ESP Syncro XT but not sure what to use for hooklink. Obviously I could use the Syncro all the way through but is there anything else you would suggest?

For the Trent I use a combi rig, with 3” of 15lb braid and typically 2-3ft of 14lb (0.32) mono, sometimes longer in gin clear daytime conditions.

I’ll up the strength to 0.34 when there’s water on. I don’t see any advantage in using lighter lines.

I wouldn't drop below 15lb mainline & hooklink strength on the middle & tidal areas of the Trent that I fish - too many rocks. You might get away with it in some pegs but you would have to know the peg well. I use a similar rig to Joe, but use 30lb hard fluoro and a coated braid with the last inch or so striped back.

Thanks guys, found some 20lb IQ2 fluro and 25lb Trickster Heavy braid in the tackle bag so will try a comb rig with those.
