Hello to all and a hooklink question.....

Hi all,

I am a new member to this forum and want to ask a question that has probably been asked a thousand times before, so I'll apologise in advance! I am completely happy with every aspect of my rigs but I can't seem to find an ideal hooklink material. I don't want fluorocarbon and am looking for either the best braid or mono. I have tried Sufix Magic Touch and discovered there's nothing magic about it - in fact, it's going to come in handy for replacing the line on my lawn strimmer and nothing else! This, of course, is just my opinion and I know some people use it but it actually seems to 'unknot' itself which is no good to me. I need something supple, with a low diameter that knots well. I have heard that Drennan sink braid is very good but I will greatly appreciate any advice I can get on here. 12lb BS is about what I'm looking for. The limper the better! It's not often you hear that said

Which river are you fishing Neil? I use Sink Braid and it's great stuff, but I wouldn't consider using it on a 'rocky' river, Trent, Wye etc.

yeah i use sinkbraid in 12lb on the warks avon and it is great stuff.
but there is no way i would use it on rocky sections like the mid severn or wye
if you are on rivers like that use a good fluro or mono

Thanks guys. I think I'll give the Drennan stuff a go. I always fish the Kennet. It's just that there are sooo many hooklinks on the market it gets confusing! Appreciate the advice
