Hello newbie.

Evening

Just joined the forum and wanted to say hello.

Fished most of my life, grew up on canals catching roach, perch etc spent the last 15 years carp fishing during the summer and piking during the winter.

Decided to challenge myself with something new and catch a barbel, got myself a Wasing ticket and look forward to catching a few, not worried about size I just like fishing and relaxing in pleasant surroundings.

Hi Daniel, welcome to the site. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic season on the Wasing, it's a lovely place to be even when you aren't catching anything.

Hi men,

Hi Dan , have a good time on here, take some time to read the Kennet river reports , they are useful , will see you on the bank sometime !

Thanks Mark and Nick.

I had one session at the Old Mill about 3 weeks a go and blanked however really enjoyed it but I just felt so limited there with not a huge amount of water to have a go at and at £14 a day it was soon going to become costly so I joined Wasing.

I'm looking forward to not just catching barbel but trying for perch in the winter to.

I fished the Dalston beat yesterday and fished a couple of swims for an hour each just to get a feel for the place, went to move on again and managed to tread on my landing net and break it so home I went.

Welcome Dan. As the lads say the Wasing has some lovely waters.
Enjoy...

A very warm welcome Dan. I can only echo what others have said about Wasing and it certainly pays to spend time exploring the place, so you are on the right track. Enjoy the forum too. A great range of characters matched with great insight and advice.

All the best.
