Heated jackets

I had one but find I was limited to what pegs I could fish as my extension lead not very long

My daughter bought a fleece body warmer for me for Christmas last year which had a built in heater :D Have to say they're very toasty when the temps get down towards freezing.

couple of warm pies in the pockets helps ,for ten mins or so:eek:

Mark you are obviously able to show greater restraint than me. I'd normally have them munched before my wellies are on.

Nice wind proof fleece, body warmer and some under layers.........hand warmers in pocket, job done !!
Mind you I'm lucky in that I don't feel the cold too much !!

Don't feel the cold other than my feet. Trouble is, having tried every sock and boot combo known to man, nothing on earth can keep them warm when the temp gets below about five degrees.

I got some Canadian Baffin Trappers lat winter and have been OK so far but I see some shops are doing heat gel packs for both hands and feet which might be worthwhile when its really cold

The body produces loads of heat. All you need to keep warm is to ensure you trap that heat. Modern mountain clothing with Primaloft insulation combined with a good outer coat should keep you warm in any British fishing conditions.

just been in tesco, 2 in a pack, hand or feet for a pound. :)

Blazewear

I use merino wool base layers (Finisterre usually sell at discount prices on e-bay in the larger sizes - £25 for their long eddy base top), merino mid layers and a duck down gilet underneath my goretex jacket, but I'm still cold when sitting motionless for long hours. Last year I bought a Blazewear heated gilet with the large battery which lasts 7 hours on the low heat setting. It is a great piece of kit if you going to be sat still for long periods. They often discount some of their products during the summer months. At the moment they are promoting their wireless controllers for their new range. Although expensive, the jackets last for years.

I was put off heated jackets years ago when I bought the Pink Floyd album - 'Wish you were here'. Click on the picture below.
