Harrison Torrix 2lb

Hi, I am sure this has been asked before but ,is there alot of difference between the
2lb and 1.75 Torrix 12' version ??

Both share a common butt 1.75 and 2.0 lb test.
You can buy them in blank form as a twin tip - that is 1 butt section and 2 (1.75 and 2lb) tips.
Made lots both in single and double tips form.

Sold a very nice 1.75 yesterday, made from a new chestnut brown blank that Harrison stopped quite a few years ago. Just happened to keep some spares - just in case.

Cheers
Bob

Hi Mark - I did make quite a lot of i-powers for Bfw but predominately as the twin tip (1.75 and 2.0 test). Is it signed? . I signed most but not all, and these go back a number of years. The i-power blank was made by Harrison for Bfw.

Thanks Bob, yes it's twin tips and signed👍

Wow ,that's very nice ! 🤗
I thought you had retired from rod building ???
Thank you.
Occasionally make the odd rod for myself and to use up some old (but new) stock. - which was the case of the chestnut Torrix.

Must admit bob them chestnut blanks were amazing that's the colour is wanted my torrix in and they had stopped them when I ordered them think it's just black and red had my first float rod made on a green blank then wanted the su made when I tried to order one in green to match Steve told me he was only doing black and red was a bit gutted chestnut and gold whipping looks amazing

Yes, shame indeed but I guess they had to trim their activities to keep costs down - both 'painting' and grinding blanks smooth were once 'free of extra charge' but that's some years back..
Knowing how painting is done it's a fair amount of work.
Messing around with suitable pigments and/or adding a clear coat can be done, but it's a bit of a 'faff'.
Treated myself to a pair of self done blue tinted 11' 1.75 Torrix some years back with dark blue whippings and they looked good .

All the best,

Bob

Seen the harrison blue blanks they were nice as well Steve gave me a bag full of carbon off cuts off all the different colours they did and showed me a blue float rod blank I did tell him I'm never fishing with an everton rod 😂 I'd never catch
