Harrison specialist Blanks

HI ALL ,
does anyone have any experience of the HARRISON SPECIALIST BLANKS .??
The plain carbon ones Matt finish 2 lb tc .

I have 2 harrison specialists although they are 1.75lb. Used them for pretty much everything. Soft enough to land 1-2lb rudd and Just enough power to land a 31lb carp. They have a nice old school proper through action, not a fancy blank to look at by any means but certainly a workhorse. The chap i bought the rods off used them specifically for tenching and was only selling to get a pair of 2lbers made to give him a bit of extra distance.

Not handled the 2lb, but I like the 1.75 and 2.25 versions. Traditional through-action blanks that aren't sloppy and have plenty in reserve. Just nice rods to fish with.

I can't see that he mentions the 'Specialist' blanks, specifically. Certainly not the 2lb, which is asked for by the OP.

On a positive note, Dave Lumb references the rod on his website.

No experience of the 2lb Specialist but I spoke to Dave Lumb when I was looking for a flood water rod. I previously used my Chimera 2s in all conditions and generally they coped but I wanted a rod that would bend as the pressure on the line increased in the hope that the lead would remain in place longer before being dislodged. He suggested the Standard Specialist 2.25, unground as the grinding process makes a noticeable difference to such a slim blank. I really like them for the barbelling and yet to see what they are like at casting when long ranges are required for the tench/bream.
