Great rod bargain>>>

climax tackle have been selling these rods at that price for as long as i can remember, they either had 100's of them or they can't shift them even at that price..
i did have a waggle with one at my local tackle shop, they wanted a lot, lot more money than the above prices.. i thought it was a nice rod though and was tempted to get one from climax but i really couldn't justify buying it as i've other similar rods and wouldn't use it often enough..

They had loads of the various discontinued Duo-Lite range. The last to sell were/are the float rods and the specialist. The various barbel rods and the Avons didn't last too long. I ended up with Avons, Specialists and Barbel Extremes. The specialists are probably the least used of the three types. There's also a fair bit of crossover with fairly standard quiver or float rods which most general anglers are likely to have already. I guess a lot of folks would be in a similar boat which is probably why they haven't shifted too quickly. I certainly don't believe it's because they are a bad rod, just a little too much of a niche product which not many are interested in.

V nice chub/perch/roach/tench/crucian/specimen float rod ... but as you suggest Chris, I already have rods that fill that niche sadly. :( otherwise I would probably have one at that price.

When they were originally available, about 4/5 seasons ago, I bought mine at the discounted price of about £59, but the following two seasons they couldn't be had for under £90 odd quid.

Obviously being replaced now, but still a lovely actioned rod............ well two rods really.

If anyone is in the market for a light Avon style rod como, I believe you won't get better for the offer prices around just now.

Bought one from Climax a couple of years back. Not that impressed with the quiver sections (one broke), while chub fishing.
Solid top is great for perching, managed to land a bonus 13lb barbel
