Great Ouse Bedford

Hi lads my father as just moved near Bedford and he wants to do a bit of barbel fishing on the Ouse at sharnbrook he as got the Vauxhall angling ticket but wanted some info on what sections fish and where to avoid any info would be great to pass onto him.

All of the Vauxhall stretches hold barbel, some of them very big. If he's prepared to put the hours in then he'll do ok, don't expect a fish every cast though.

There are less fish than there were and you need to do a lot of walking to find the pockets, you also need to be very stealthy or you will spook the fish.

Baiting and waiting works well but can be time consuming.
