Govt thwarted in landmark ruling for our rivers

It used to be stuffed with Dace, chub, Grayling,Trout, such a shame 😳 but at least it’s a start if not too late I fear? I just hope it will be a lesson learned for the future 🤞🏻
 
Funny how, when campaigning for Labour in the general Election, Environment Secretary Steve Reed was all for doing everything possible to protect our rivers. Once in power he does the opposite... or tries to.

A good result , but I am sorry to put a downer on things .
For me the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and until there is a noticeable , verifiable and lasting improvement to Costa Beck, and hopefully a few other rivers to start with , then it is all just hot air .

Who will enforce the ruling , and who will take the time and effort to ensure that the water quality improves , and will have a proveable quality control ?


I will not hold my breath but will keep my fingers crossed .
