Going Fishing

Ian Hugo Arnott

Senior Member
It has not been the best of seasons as for various health reasons I have only fished four times.

At the moment I have my left arm in a sling as my left hand is swollen to twice its normal size and very painful, owing to a side effect from an antibiotic. It is strange typing with one finger.

All I can say is, enjoy your fishing and thanks to BFW for keeping me in touch.

Have a word with nurse Hugo, I am sure she can bring relief...one way or another :p

Seriously though, despite the old saying that laughter is the best medicine, I am so sorry to hear your problems are still giving you grief. I love a good old moan about my various body parts that are showing signs of age, but I know these are as nothing compared to folk with real problems....and you are not alone on these boards in that respect. I do hope things get more bearable sooner rather than later chap, allowing you to get out on the bank for a dabble.

And don't forget, if you feel that fishing is beyond you at present....a decent session on the banks of the Pinn with nurse is almost certain to stiffen your resolve....cough :D

Cheers, Dave.

Well said Dave !! I've got plenty of niggles, but they are just that !!
Hugo, hope you get out again soon !!
Funny thing for me is that this is my best year health wise for sometime and I have no fishing mojo !! I'm hoping that the lure of a winter Dace campaign will change that !!

Very frustrating when you can't get out due to health problems Hugo, I've been there myself for a few years. I have to agree with Paul though, loosing your mojo is a different sort of disability, I've been struggling to find mine since I landed a target fish off the Dove 18 months ago.

Hugo,
I am trickling a little bait into your favourite Pinn swim on a daily basis for you..You should have a bumper day when you can cast a line....

Stop feeling sorry for yourself ya miserable old git, it's only a cold ;)

Seriously, don't let it all get you down old boy, hope you are feeling well enough to get bankside again soon, I am sure Chubby will have something special planned.

Hugo ,

Sorry to hear you are a bit '' crook '' as they say in the antipodes . The solution however is simple . Given the amazing and diverse population of the Pinn ,[ Burbot , Sea Horses , hippos etc ], there is clearly something special about this magnificent river . I would suggest that you get Nurse and / or Bunty to drive you down to the bank where you can'' take the waters '' as they used to say in days gone by . I am sure this will sort you out if the elixer is taken sparingly .:D
