Gardner Talon tip and Pallatrax Hook.

Simon - it depends which version of the Talon Tip you mean. The original Talon Tip has a narrower gape between shank and point than the Pallatrax Hook and also has an off set point.

When comparing the Pallatrax Hook to the new Wide Gape Talon Tip - they are identical. The only difference being the Gardner hooks are available with the covert finish on them aswell as the shiny black finish on the Pallatrax Hook. Pallatrax Hooks are also available in smaller sizes although i'm sure you've sussed that out for yourself! :)

Thats what i thought mate, they look like the same hook to me.
 
not tried the pallatrax hooks but use the covert wide gape talon tips for all my meat and big baits and they are great
 
The pallatrax hook is excellent, but if i can get the same hook in the 'covert' finish then thats great, they will be just the job for bare hook presentations.

Presuming my I.T. skills haven't failed me again, above is a picture of the two patterns mentioned ( click on it to make it bigger! ). On the left is a Pallatrax Hook in size 10, on the right is a Gardner Covert Wide Gape Talon Tip in size 10 - you only need to look at the eye and the bend to see the difference in light reflection.
