I get that criticism you have with it... I too prefer the old triangula nets generally as a couple of quick whip arounds has it folded and stored in the quiver.I've got the net, Julian. The 26" version. I like it. I did look at the 30" but it was just too big for my needs. Nice and light and easily moved around. The mesh is deep enough for me, and I've had a 13lber in it, so ok size wise. My only criticism is when folded in half it is a little awkward to transport on the gear I carry. Before I had a folding triangular net that I could get in my holdall, but I now have to carry the Gardner on top of my rucksack, and it isn't the best place for it. But that's just me. I'll have to find abetter way of carrying it this season.
Can't help you with the pole I'm afraid. I use the Drennan one.
Looks a good bit of kit, I do have the lone angler beast of a landing net pole too, but quite heavy. (but built to last!)I bought one approximately eighteen months/two years ago for particular swims on the D.Derwent. It's very robust and has hauled a few chunky barbel to the bank. The net I can't help you with I'm afraid as mine is paired with a collapsible Korum spoon.
I didn’t know that CB angling products did an extending pole? Thaught they just did the 6ft with 3ft extension? MateI have the pole it is good but you notice how heavy it is when extended. But built to last i guess. Went over to a Chris Brown 36" net and extending pole, very lightweight and really stiff.
Me too - have loved it for over 20 yearsLooks a good bit of kit, I do have the lone angler beast of a landing net pole too, but quite heavy. (but built to last!)![]()
