All,
I have been in contact with Steve Pope concerning ideas for the commemoration of Fred's life. Steve has emailed me today with current thoughts and has asked that I share these with you, particularly given the interest from BFW members in making a donation of some kind.
Steve and fellow members of the BS are giving a great deal of thought to what to do. There is certainly a plan to organise a permanent memorial at Kings Weir, the fishery I understand Fred loved. Steve is also editing the next edition of Barbel Fisher and he intends to make that a tribute to Fred. In addition, Steve will be writing Fred's obituary which should be finished soon.
The funeral will be a private affair but plans are being discussed for a memorial day close to Fred's home where all the people who knew Fred can attend and pay their respects. More on this to come as the plans evolve.
Lastly, Steve has asked that if any member here has their own personal experience or reflections on time spent with Fred and would like to write about it, Steve would love to hear about it. Let me know and I can pass on contact details etc.
