Fox specialist 45" brolly review

Hi, now that this brolly has been out for a little while now can anyone recommend it or are there better alternatives out there? My 50" wavelock got trashed yesterday so im looking for something else but want something that can take a bit of a wind without giving up the ghost, any recommends?
 
Very sturdy brolly,also very heavy and a total pain to get in and out of its sleeve.

If you are fishing in one swim all day it's ok but not for the mobile angler,also not the sort of brolly you lug about in the holdall "in case of rain"
 
Had the Fox specialist brolly since Christmas and used it a few times. Once on a very blustery day and after a few adjustments got it in the right position. It only weighs 2.7kg so can't say I've had issues roving with it. The extra head room is very handy when you are tucked under it when it's windy or heavy rain. Ive not found it difficult getting it back in the sleeve, just roll it up tight.
There are storm caps at the side if you need them in really windy conditions!

A God send on windy days not that heavy I use my on lower Severn in winter when a normal brolly wouldn't last.
 
Had mine since last Spring, got it to replace a Wavelock Nubrolli that was past it's sell by date, had huge splits in the fabric. The Fox is much lighter than the old brolly, the only downside to the tilt design is that it makes the top end wider so you need a generous sling pouch to fit it in. Apart from that I've found it much better than the old one and very stable, even without using sticks.
 
Had mine over a year now and can't recommend it enough. It's held up in all the storms that we've had and really isn't that heavy for roving: I ditched the sleeve it came in, and just stick it on top of my unhooking cradle and carry it by the sling handles between swims.

Have to disagree Richard , it is the specialist flat back were taking about? , it's very light and I rove a lot , and this is the best brolly by far that I've come across.
 
Had one for the last half season and must say it's the best bit of kit I've bought in many years stood up to some horrendous weather on the ribble this year with no problems, yes a bit of a pain when trying to get back I it's sleeve if still lashing down when packing g up but that would be my only minor negative...

Can't imagine a scenario where I would fish under a brolly with the wind in my face... Rather defeats the object, doesn't it?

I have the Gardner river roving sling and it fits with room for storm poles as well. There is one in the bfw shop!

Hi Dave, yes it does, but on occasions, i've decided i'm sitting it out in the same peg all day, initially set up with the wind behind, or to the side, but over the course of the day, the wind has changed direction.
