I am absolutely gutted that I have over tightened the reel grip on one of my beloved fox 2.25 tc barbel rod and was hoping that maybe anyone on the forum had one for sale or even a but section, the other alternative is to have a new reel fitting fitted so if anyone has any recommendations to get this done would appreciate any info. I know that these are not top end rods but to be honest I love em and just don't want to lose them. I did try to step up to the fox horizon x4 2.75s last year but after a couple of broken tip sections casting 4oz leads quickly assigned them to fleabay

of blanks to Joe public and the tools and paraphernalia that I’ve accumulated, I could probably employ one of the custom builders for a similar cost. The quality may be higher, but there wouldn’t be the satisfaction . If you decide to have a go, then good on yer. I am certainly not a “rod builder” but have picked up a little knowledge along the way and happy to share. There are certainly some on here far more qualified to advise
