Back in may 2016 I sent my Fox nx bite alarm back to Fox to have the inferior rubberised cover replaced with the later smooth plastic one. This was done after I had called them to discuss the issue. I was then quoted a price and given a time frame of 4 weeks.
If you are not aware of these alarms, the early fox N range had what can only be described as a rubberised coating. This felt sticky to touch and looked wet/gloss to dry/matt in patches all over the body of the alarm after a very short period of time. I understand it only lasted a couple of years when Fox reverted back to the smooth plastic as found on the earlier micron alarms.
After a week I checked with the Royal Mail and printed off the signed receipt. A week after that I called Fox just to make sure everything was ok but was told that the replacement covers were 'on the water' and expected that week so there may be a short delay.
Previously to sending this alarm back, I sent one in 2015 with the same problem. That one was with them 7 months! When they did eventually call me for payment to despatch the alarm, I was genuinely shocked as I had forgot about it. When I explained this to the lady on the phone she agreed to wave the cost, although the alarm did come back without its original box and paperwork as I had sent it.
Its now the end of December and after a letter to them in November still nothing. No letter, no e-mail not even a phone call.
It appears that my previous 7 month wait may indeed be a quick turn-a-round!
