Evening all..currently in the new forest for a weeks holiday. Non fishing I'm afraid.
Stopped off at Fordingbridge yesterday for a pint by the river. Was pleasantly surprised as to how any big fat chub there was cruising around. Is there is free or day tickets to be had along this stretch of river..also are there any barbel present. Just a thought for next year for a long weekend.
Regards
Alex

Sandy Balls?!!

No I'm not being rude or personal but I caught my one and only Hampshire Avon barbel (a double) during a family camping trip at Sandy Balls about 20 years ago. Very satisfing - got the fish on the very first cast.

Try the cafe on the recreation ground along the river at Fordingbridge, they used to do day tickets there for the short stretch.
