I'm really not happy with this company as when I ordered the 2 x Shimano Thunnus they had them in stock and I heard nothing off them after 5 days so I emailed them and this was the reply so I've asked for my money back and it's back to the drawing board as for what reel 😡
I'm gutted the Daiwa Emblem BR25A is to big for what iI want as I really like the reel and there is some good deals on them

That’s a shame, I’ve had nothing but excellent service from them in past.
If it was me i would then look at a shimano 5000 series baitrunner (xtea are the best, older aero GTs also good) you’ll pick the Aeros up on eBay for good money but the XTEAs tend to go for big money, but for a reason.
Also have a look at daiwa GS Br reels…not used one myself but being daiwa are bound to be decent and fairly cheap…so maybe use them for a few months until Thunnus back in stock and get yourself an early Xmas pressie😉

I’ve had all the Shimano 4000 baitrunners and the only pair I kept were the 4000 OCs , the Thunnus are a bit over kill for what we want , the D version is nice but a bit bling and more expensive than the OCs .
The 4000 OC will do everything you want at a cheaper price . Plus easier to get hold off .

OC’s are bullet proof , i use 8000oc for flood water fishing , also use them in Thailand for 180lb carp and arapima.😳

Yes I’ve serviced them all and the difference is negligible between OC and D
Few small subtle upgrades that only a salt water angler is ever going to see the real advantages of.
Thunnus is in another league yes with the gearing size and type. Also the clutch on a thunnus is assisted with a bearing which you can really notice when it’s set very tight

But…… you can take advantage of that with a D.
Yes thunnus 4000 spools with thunnus clutch plates and bearing all built into them will fit straight on a D4000.

Not an OC though the clicker is in the wrong place. Also 6000 and 8000 models are not interchangeable either just the 4000.

I'm a kak hander and have had no problems with line under the spool, not sure it makes any difference 🤔.
But I thought it was the fb version that was the troublesome one??..

This maybe a stupid question but has anyone ever used a Penn real like the Spinfisher VII Live Liner
At one time, the Penn Slammers were the " IN " thing, great as they were, they soon fell out of favour, as they had no backwind, they were intended for sea anglers i believe. I know a few on here bought them.
