First year on the forum

Hi everyone,
I would just like to say thank you to everyone on the bfw site and wish you all a merry Christmas.
This has been my first year as a bfw member. I have received lots of helpful advice, pick up lots of great tips and enjoyed many funny threads.
I am sure this has enabled me not just to catch more barbel, but to enjoy my fishing much more.

Hi men,

Well it's another year were still here , despite the prediction that we will all be skeletons sitting at a keyboard . Without doubt there are lots of ways to keep in touch , I use Facebook a lot , but there are some right nitwits on there , friends of friends can comment and cause trouble . The barbel pages often go into meltdown but have their place , but threads don't and can't flow like they do on a dedicated site , hence this is the first I look in on when I get up . Iv said it before , I sit on the throne when I get up and have a peaceful read .

Glad you have enjoyed the site Mike as we all have , long may people post .

That's why people similar to me like this site. Great help and tips. A good laugh. Very informative information from people that have been targeting the Barbel much longer than me. The biggest thing, there is no side snides, spiteful remakes or back stabbing unlike some of the sites i have left due to the above.
Even though i have fished since i was 5 and now 52 years later i haven't stopped learning about fishing as a whole.
