early season water depths.

hi all, getting really bored yet & missing the rivers.
anyway what kind of depths will you all be looking for on the glorious 16th. because ive been walking my local part of the severn these last few evenings & in particular haveing a look at a fairly unfished piece with a view to giving it a go early season, but to be fair its fairly shallow, probably 2-3ft at the most all the way across & slightly pacey. do you reckon its worth giving it a bash as its not realy fished that much although it is in between some well fished areas.

In a word, yes. It's amazing how barbel can be found in places where they really shouldn't be. I blame their illiteracy - a nice, spanking new "free school" would sort them out, I reckon, get them compliantly occupying only the spots where the punters go...
