Drop off indicators

I’ve been stuck in the house with a cold(not Covid) so I decided to sort my fishing tackle out and noticed my drop off indicators were looking old so instead of buying some I thought I’d have a go at making some, here’s the end product, not bad for a first attempt

Proper job👍 Put mine to shame
My drop offs are all homemade , none of them
Match and they look pitiful but they do the job safely . I swear by the Gardner line clip with the brass tensioning screw when using braid.
Are the type you use ok with braid?
I have had a few issues with similar types to the ones in the pics in that they can trap thicker braid and not drop off cleanly
Not normally an issue but when it’s cold and fish torpid they don’t always scream off and can engulfe the bait on the spot so I like mine set as sensitive as possible
Genuinely curious as the Gardner clips are quite difficult to get now and always looking for an alternative
