Drennan super specialist

Managed to pick this up for £30 from my local tackle shop.

I know nothing about it other than uts 12ft 1.25lb but I assume, like most Drennan rods, it's pretty decent?

Cheers

I have the 1.75. Actually never used it, bought it from a closing down tackle shop for £70 half retail price. The blank is quite chunky but with it being Drennan it's quality. Your 1.25 is a rod I would rather prefer. The rod is c.2012.

Looks like a bargain. One of those sold on ebay for £85 recently and another one is listed at the same price by the same seller. My preference for a rod in this test curve, if river fishing, would be to have interchangeable quiver tips as per Drennan's current Twin Tip Duo range although yours does have a screw threaded tip ring.

If it is an original grey rod with black whippings in good condition the id say you saved yourself about £60 or £70 quid
Absolutely cracking rods, superseded by the very similar Duo twin top rods

Does it have a screw tip? If so that is quite a strange thing on a fairly modern rod. Daiwa did the same on the Powermesh Avons and it was not great.

Thanks all, mine doesn't have a screw in tip ring, not sure if that means it's been repaired at some point although it doesn't look like it has 🤔

The one on ebay has it so assumed it was a standard feature. Apologies if I got that wrong.
Yeah, I've got no idea mate but be nice to know one way or another.

Like I say mine certainly doesn't look like it's been replaced, definitely not due to a snapped tip which is normally the reason to replace a tip ring but I can't say for sure.
