Drennan Specialist landing Net 32"

Hi All,

Don't suppose anyone has one they would part with?

I would consider alternatives if 32", folding with carbon arms.

I've got and use various nets ....it's just a pity that any fish don't use mine 😵‍💫

N.b..I'd have thought the actual weight of the arms is such a small fraction of the total weight of a complete wet net (arms/net/spreader block) that it would make 'arm weight' almost inconsequential (e.g. a similar weight to a single bank stick).

Same depth as the Drennan Daniel. 24” (61cm) and weighs 12 oz (330g) 👍 BUT if you want it for Barbel I would recommend the 36” that said I have had a 29lb carp that snaffled my four red maggots when after Tench in my 32” !
 
For those with OCD........
The 32" Drennan Specialist is 323g (inc 40g spreader).
The 36" Drennan Specialist is 375g (inc 40g spreader).

For comparison, a 36" Greys Prodigy carp net (without the spreader) is 382g. However, the difference can be partially explained by the net being ridiculously deep.
 
Thanks for the responses to date Gents.

Probably sounding picky just had my heart set on the Drennan. As well as the weight I've had fibreglass arms splinter in the past, never an issue with carbon.

32" as will fit under the false floor, in the boot together with 4pc harrison avon.
 
I had the plastic spreader block break on my TB 36” net , informed TB and they sent a new alloy block out , I paid the difference in £ but I’d still recommend it

The spreader block was probably the best bit about those drennan specialist nets. It is plastic but you won’t break it and the screw is solid stainless steel too. It’s a very strong design indeed.

However…..

Imo they are not great at all. The 32 inch is no use whatsoever for any barbel over 7/8lb it’s a shallow net with very little use for a recovery stage and the mesh hole diameter being quite small makes it’s difficult on rivers with a decent pace.

The 36 is improved slightly in these areas with it being deeper and bigger mesh but both have very flexible carbon arms that get a lot thinner towards the end and they both practically double over with any amount of force applied from a steep bank.

I have (correctly) lifted double figured barbel out of the nene banks with the 36 but it wasn’t a particularly fun task with the lack of rigidity in the net frame. You get the feeling it’s all just going to let go on you.

I think there’s a lot better out there and judging by the fact they weren’t around long at all, many others probably thought the same.

Thanks again for the input.

Pulled the trigger on a Korum Expert 34". Squeezes in the desired location and hopefully a good comprise size wise.

Alloy spreader, carbon arms and the net looks a decent depth in the pictures. All for £30.
 
I've got the 32 inch TB net, bought it for barbel but it's far too shallow in my opinion, great for other species but not for barbel.

Can anyone confirm that the 36 inch is deeper and hopefully by quite a bit?
