Drennan Double Rod Sleeve

Got 1 for Christmas unfortunately neither my daiwa infinity’s or greys x- flites fit as the handles on the rods are too short and reels do not align with the pockets

The match style black with blue Drennan writing and piping double rod sleeves that are about £30 will not take my barbel rods and reels either but I have 3 of the older SUPER SPECIALIST double rod sleeves and they take any barbel rods and reels I've had.. I would imagine the new Drennan SPECIALIST double rod sleeve that costs about £45 would be fine....

I suspect that establishing exactly which sleeve is being talked about is imperative.
I've had the new(ish) Specialist Double Rod Sleeve since its' release. However, I've not had a barbel rod in it yet.
Just to make sure, I dug out my pair of Greys X-Flite Barbel rods, fitted reels and put them in the sleeve. They fitted without a problem.
However, if you use much bigger reels (big pit/mini big pit) than my 4000 baitrunners, it might be a little tight.

It's the specialist I'm interested in. I have the single rod version. But like the idea of having the landing net handle and bank sticks on the sleeve and not bothering with a quiver. But I haven't seen one in a shop.

Pretty much how I use mine, despite not doing much proper barbelling these days. A matching single sleeve will also fit to the double by means of a pouch at the base and a couple of buckled straps on the side. The double usually carries 17 and 15' float rods and the attached short single sleeve houses a 3 piece 13' float rod.

Reckon you would be better off with a Korum quiver, the Drennan Sleeve is good but don't like the quiver.

John, they are good bits of kit and not heavy and bulky like some double sleeves. Use various rods in mine and never an issue with fit.You won't be disappointed and if you have the single sleeve already you will be familiar with the quality.
