Drennan 12 ft 10 barbel quiver or method any advice ?

Impressive power in this rod low down, caught my best barbel with one, but ultimately proved to be too long for most of the waters I was fishing.
I think it would be superb on the middle and tidal Trent though.
seemed to be best with a 3oz fast taper carbon tip, use the 4oz tip for flood conditions...
My mate now uses it to very good effect on the lower & tidal Trent

Hope this helps

I had the 12 10 method feeder rod and it was a superb rod and very versatile. I had barbel up to almost 10lb and used it in flood conditions also. Very nice progressive action with some power lower down too.

I've got a pair of Drennan 12 ft 10 barbel quiver rods, which I originally purchased for long range Chub fishing on the Wye, but it didnt happen. Instead I've enjoyed using them as summer barbel rods on the middle Severn; note however that you're pushing it a bit, if attempting to cast anything over 3oz to the far bank.
