dog spike

Would somebody be kind enough to reccomend a sturdy dog spike for assisting clambering up the slippery banks.
There are loads on e bay ,I know,,but they look a bit flimsy (they may well do the job???) so a referal from personal use would be greatly appreciated .
Thanks
Mark

Just try Pets at Home Mark. I bought mine from there but to be fair it was for my dog as well.

Mark,

They might look flimsy but will do the job - I've owned several and there has been no difference between any of them - just get the cheapest.

Personally I wouldn't go for the Jack Pyke one - the plastic T shaped handle looks like it might break.

Ah well one sensible reply ,thanks,
and two really really funny ones,,,,
You guys crack me up!

Well lets face it you were asking for it:) But I admit it's a new 'Which' question.
I think something so important as to your safety should be inspected in the flesh, so to speak, the last thing you need is the thing to give way at the critical moment, Mark Anderson (Hatter) uses the things all the time on the Teme ,perhaps he could advise.

Mark I picked one up in my local pet shop for about £3 last year. I don't think they are going to be that expensive wherever you look but worth there weight in gold on occassions ;)

Mines a cheap one and it works a treat even for the larger chap.

Hi men ,

Dont worry to much about the corkscrew side of things , as withh all of them , once screwed in they are all sturdy. A nice ring at the top to take the rope is all that we looked for .

One of Sues fave swim on the Teme , only room for 1 , so I sit at the top untill she hooks one then rope down with the net :D . Lots of her favs are like this

If you take a walk down the Teme on any weekend you will find plenty, just pull the rope up first and then help yourself.

(does it need a smiley thing?)

I left two behind last season, so you can have them. £3 from the local pet store, work a treat, but easy to forget after you get back up if you are prone to those ageing moments:confused:
