Do You Tie Your Own Flies? FREE HAIR!

Andreas Opitz

Senior Member
If you do, I have a Samoyed dog called Conan and I've just learnt that their hair is often used for tying flies. Never done it myself but this friendly beast of a dog sheds hair for fun, so I'm happy to put a load in the post for anyone who is interested?

Postage will be free as I do it through work. All I ask is that people write back to me with negative/positive feedback about it's use.

Cheers, Andreas.
ps. any questions please feel free to ask :)

long hairs - probably useful for stillwater lures - maybe cats whisker variants. Not heard of others using similar hairs that are more successful than the usual stuff. The hairs may also need blitzing for parasites - which if introduced into a fly tiers collection of fur and feather can cause catastrophic damage.
