Defiant River pod /banksticks....

Has anyone got any of this companies gear?

Pod looks really nice, especially like the less clunky look about it, but not sure if that will ever be part of my river setup, as I prefer the freedom & positioning of single banksticks if I were to fish two rods and spread them apart a bit more.

But the pod look better than what we currently see available in shops & no doubt lighter in weight, shame it's not black though!

Some really nice bits of gear on his site nonetheless. Thought I'd share👍

Hi Julian
Have a selection of titanium banksticks and a set of custom buzzer bars that rotate for fishing rods high or low
Perhaps the most used are some 36inch bank sticks that can be screwed in to pretty much any ground and have a small Tommy bar stored inside them
The items feel pretty much bombproof

I,ve been using this company for a good few years. Not bought anything as large as a pod, but the indicators, bobbins ,quick change adaptors and sticks have been excellent. Another item, a”digging stick”, a stainless archimedes screw point mounted on a titanium shaft has proved invaluable for creating a hole for banksticks in rock hard banks. It’s turned with a tommy bar that stores nicely in the shaft. All items are made to order in top quality materials, far superior to Chinese imports. A little more expensive, but “buy cheap, buy twice” etc. Keith is very accommodating and will respond promptly to an email

Have a read of this thread.
I've got various bits of gear from Keith including the river tripod.
I have not had the chance to try it yet - My only concern (from living room testing) is getting the locking knut tightened up enough to stop it rotating..

Cheers John.

I was surprised at the various little mods you guys have had to do, to get things perfect for your own fishing needs. Like getting the rods pointed higher & having to use other components from other companies to get yours the way you want to etc.
I kinda understand that however, as one glove doesn't fits all etc...
I'd want something ordererd without having to do all of that if I'm being honest, especially as it's quite an expensive bit of kit already.... But I understand it's a quality bit of kit! 👍

I'm leaning more to a range of banksticks & keeping it simple. 😊

Use a lot of his kit for carp fishing rod pod and various types of indicator. His gear is built to last with the best materials available, still using his original stainless steel gear for carp fishing. Trying to resist buying the fan tail pod in titanium 🤣
Got the River Pod and its a great piece of kit, look forward to using it if the river is ever fishable.
