hi all new to this forum, just recently started back fishing, after a long layoff, was wondering if anyone on here fishes the river dearn in south yorkshire area and could pass on a bit of information as to where to fish ect,its only half an hour away from me, and would be grateful of any info i can get, havent felt a barbel on my line for 20 yrs,and dont want to be travelling too far untill i get back into it properly, many thanks tony.

Welcome buddy I would try the Rivers thread as a source of information just look for the relevant thread. It does also pay to hang around contribute and build up a rapport with people who will go out of their way to help with all sorts of info.

As a general guide I used to live right next to the Dearne not long after the miners strikes and some idiots polluted it " Politics" I do believe Barbel are present through a very long stretch right down the Don. Take some leg work and time but a small intimate river should be rewarding in itself.

Good luck..

Brian
