I’d be selling this for considerably more money if the spool anodizing had come out completely mint as I wanted.
However there’s areas to the front lip in particular that haven’t taken very well to being anodized. I’d rather reduce the price than throw more time and effort at it to be honest.
This reel has had a bloody hard life and the only way it was going to be bought back to its full potential was with a complete overhaul. Total rebuild.
Every single screw spring and part was removed, degreased, replaced and relubed.
It’s had a new rotor bearing, new bail spring, new AR pawl.
The spool shaft and the bail arm were bent and I’ve straightened both and clocked the spool shaft to perfection.
The bail arm has been painted and hard coated back to black.
Spool has been re anodised albeit not the best finish as said above.
The clutch has been upgraded with Teflon washers and the originals will go with the reel if you prefer to swap them back.
I’ve truthfully never turned the handle on an SS that feels as great as this one. Probably better than it was fresh out the box.
Mechanically it’s a 11/10.
Cosmeticly 7/10. It’s a clean reel with afew nicks dings and marks. It’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
It looks 10 years old. It’s actually over 30 it feels like a day old.
Japanese made baby tournament
These are the same size as the Taiwan ss1600 so you could change the spool if wanted and it’s still a Japanese made reel rebuilt to run like a Swiss watch.
I’m asking £90. And I’ll post for that.
