Daiwa airity waggler rod for trotting

Want to have a go at trotting never done it before I have 12ft daiwa airity waggler rod that I use for carp when match fishing would this rod work for trotting on river the action is amazing on this rod
 
I cant see any reason why not, give it a go, should be fine.
