Custom rod builders

I live in the north west, who do you recommend to build me a barbel rod.I have looked at them all on harrisons website I can't make my mind up.thanks.

I too am in the NW and I have previously had rods from Kev Baines at Anglers Workshop in Newcastle-under-Lyme. He did retire, but I then heard he started up again and in the same premises. Tel: 01782 561515

He builds on Harrison blanks and is cheaper than other rod builders in my experience.

Highly recommend Dave Lumb.Bought a Harrison Chimera from him earlier in the year, its a delight to use.He also came across as a really good bloke.
Follow up to this post.As I said, really like this rod and it is treated more like a pampered pet than a tool for use.Meticulously cleaned after every trip and has a special place for it to be kept in the spare room.My wife who has been known to be sarcastic calls it "my precious".To be fair,I'm getting to look more like Gollum every year.

Mark Tunley for me. I have quite a few of his rods now. His Harrison Dark Carbon Specialists are superb. And his 13’6 Specialist float is a stunning rod

I have six Dave Lumb Pike Rods, 3 boat P3's and 3 bank P1's and they are great quality robust rods nothing flashy.
My next rod will, I think be a Mark Tunley 13ft 6 specialist float rod because it is innovative the way it folds down into the butt section and would suit my fishing.
I have not seen a Mark Tunley rod in the flesh up close, but my son is having him build a custom rod which I will look at first. The only thing I would say is it seems Mark does not offer delivery (on his website collection or own courier) but Dave Lumb does.
