Courier Recommendations please for posting long rods

Can anyone recommend a courier for posting longer rods?
Hermes will only deal with items less than 1.2 metres and others want to charge a fortune.
Any suggestions please?
 
Got to be UPS. Sent a 14ft. 3 piece last month for £8. Collected from my home and delivered less than 24 hours later.
If you need a cardboard tube to send it in try a fabric shop they are happy to give them away and they have different lengths and diameters to choose from.

Or a carpet shop

Make sure it’s upstoday.com. If you go to the regular ups site it’s much more exoensive

Dave yes I had gone to the wrong UPS site and they quoted £28 which is ridiculous.

When selling 2 piece 12' rods on ebay in the past, I've always used Parcel Force 48 hour, door to door. Cost was £10 - £12.
 
Do not use DPD.

I sent a pristine Harrison 13FT gti float rod to my partners brother in Sweden as a gift for his recent hospitality. I had just restored the rod...new cork, keeper ring, new set of Seymo RDX rings. Carefully packed in a hard plastic rod tube with bubble wrap, as well as bubble wrap on the outside of the tube and 'fragile item' tape. He picked it up from his local depo, took it home and discovered 2 of the three sections (butt and middle) are completely smashed in two. The rod is badly smashed - looks like a pallet or something landed on it.

I'm gutted.
