Coppermill Stream

I was wondering does anyone have any experience of fishing the Coppermill stream around the Walthamstow complex by chance?

Many thanks, pm if preferred.

cheers, simon

i used to have but haven,t fished it for donkeys years, i understand its extremely hard nowadays not that it was ever easy, best thing is to ask baliffs ect, i think there are a couple of good spots but from what i have been told its extremely hard....j.w

I was hoping someone would reply 'oh yes stuffed with doubles that come and nibble your toes they're so easy to catch'

ho hum. it's probably my most local river with barbel in and have never tried it, drive 100 miles to fish another extremely hard bit of river instead!

ok try fishers green i understand thats easy by by coppermill comparison, big barbel in there. not as gin clear as coppermill and a lot wider.

Thanks John, I've walked coppermill a couple of times last season but while I saw carp and chub I didn't see any barbel. Time for another look.

Simon,

Like you I have walked the Coppermill in the hope of seeing a Barbel but alas not a sight...The gatekeeper pointed me down toward the tunnel saying that was where the Barbel lived but all I saw were Pike and Bream....Saw some pretty big Carp and Bream in the "out of bounds" stretch near the gate entrance.....shame really 'cos I can get to Walthamstow in about twenty-five minutes if Blackwall is behaving !!! [if ever]...

Good Luck with your quest....I'll drop you a PM if I find any further local info...
