cooking on the bank

My wife delivers food for me and tops up the tea flask. Before buying a Ridge monkey go to a camping shop where you will find more or less the same for half price. Mine think it's made by Campari has lasted us over 30 years of camping

Depends what you want to cook Stuart. The ridge monkey is a copy of an old design but more compact. The xl is ideal for a small cooker. They are good for the usual sausage, bacon etc but if you youtube it there's a plethora of videos of people experimenting with stuff.

I'm sure Fishtec just released something similar and was on offer at £10.
I have a hex stove and just got one of those meths stoves that Aldi was selling for £8.50 in their sale.

If you use amazon Stuart search miracle pan. It's huge and would suffice in two breakfasts but at 16 pounds it's worth it. I have one and it's of good quality.

Years a go there was a brilliant thread on BFW showing how to use a kelly kettle and the little pan you can buy to go with it to cook food . It was amazing the meals the author was able to come up with not just basic fry ups

Whilst I love the wonder of both Kelly kettle/volcano stoves and trangia/meths stoves I have bought and used many varieties and nothing comes close to these for practicality and power. Works on unleaded petrol, essentially a copy of Coleman dual fuel sportster and performs like an absolutely champ.

Can get them cheaper if you hunt on sites like aliexpress and dx.com shipped from the far east (I did without problems).

NGT also do a sandwich toaster.

I use and recommend the Brukit. Mine was £30 but they've just brought out two new versions, with varying capacities, at £42 and £48.

Impressed with the delivery time as a I only payed the standard postage charge & the product doesn't look too bad either
