Pair of Torrix barbel rods, rod quiver, couple of pike fishing books, Compleat Angler (never owned a copy).

Non-fishing, The Undertones - An Anthology (CD), Senna (DVD) various other music titles and the usual socks, smellies, chocolate and wine.

Perhaps most interesting is a book documenting my grandfather's survival after 49 days adrift in a lifeboat after being torpedoed in WW2. Puts things into perspective.

A new delk and all the associated accessories to complete a three rod set up. I also got a new frying pan and wok. Better than the hoover I got last year!;)

Fishing related , fox bivvy table , passion for angling book , big roach book , fishing hat ,pewter barbel book mark unrelated wallace and gromit socks , slippers and retro radio , a very special mug off my son , dvd , couple of cheques , new laptop , mini hotwater bottle and the usual biscuits and choccys

I have one of those. Press 'Out' when you've dropped the attached external thermometer in the water. That will give you the reading of the water temperature. The 'In' setting is for the termometer within the unit you hold, which will give you the air temerature I believe. That's my take anyway.

Santa got me some spinning gear and a JW Rovex Avon for the chub :D

Cheers for that Paul, all the best mate;)

Bad news I woke up to a stomach bug that had me rather unwell most of the day.

Good news it did mean I avoided going to the outlaws today !

Bad news no presents to talk about.

Good news being old enough not to really care my 3 and 5 years old were happy and that is all that matters really.

Two books, A Passion for Angling.....signed by Bob, Chris, Hugh and Bernard,
also Catching the impossible, signed by Martin and Hugh..............
The pictures and graphics in A Passion for Angling are out of this world, plus 100 metres of 35mm of PVA net, enough to last the rest of the season, and 2012 and 2013 and so on, plus some fish catch log books, and the way i have been catching this season i reckon they should last forever.
Brian.

Similar situation to Andy, though I remained well :)

Nothing fishing related for me (or much else) but had a nice day. Now itching to get on the river. Visiting the in-laws today so the fishing might have to be tomorrow.....

Petition for Divorce. Found it on my pillow Christmas eve. The envelope was addressed, ''For Shaun''. I noticed from the postmark that Santa received this on the 7th Dec. Santa can be a right sick bunny at times

Really sorry to hear that, Shaun. I wouldn't presume to know anything of your situation, however I hope 2012 brings you happiness.....plus the odd barbel. :)

That is the saddest Christmas tale I heard in a long time Shaun. I assume it was not exactly a bolt from the blue, but even so, the deliberate cruelty of the timing would seem to suggest to an outsider that perhaps it is for the best.

Here's hoping that your dire situation resolves itself quickly and that the new year brings peace of mind and happiness. A few longish sessions on a quiet, much loved stretch of bank, with time to contemplate in peace,
might not be a bad idea right now.

Good luck Shaun.

Dave.

Fresh bedchair with alarmingly stiff elastication - needs wearing in and thus toddling down to the Thames later. Merry Christmas to All. :D
