Chimera Swap?

I have a lovely 12ft Chimera 1.75tc which I have used three times. I bought it with the shrink wrap still on from (I hope I remember correctly) Joe Winstanley a few months ago, so it's still in mint nick.

I would prefer a 2lb tc (chimera three I believe) - any interest?

It depends who you ask regarding the test curve. Here's what Dave Lumb says about the Chimera specialist no3.

CS12-SU 12ft/2lb 4oz: £210.00
I was lucky enough to use this blank before it was launched and became known as the Chimera Specialist 3. Somewhat stiffer in the tip and more through actioned in the butt than the other Chimera Specialists. Capable of casting, that's casting not swinging out, six ounce leads (and more) or loaded five ounce feeders yet still forgiving enough to avoid hook pulls when using braided line. Just hang on and let it bend! A great rod for the bigger rivers, and fish, in any conditions and for fishing method feeders on stillwaters.

According to Davies tackle the Chimera 3 is 2 lb tc ?

The Chimera 3 is a great example of just how test curves can be misleading - I would say it's at least 2.25lb. It feels a touch more powerful rod than the faster-actioned Torrix 2.5 because of the stiffer / slower tip, but the butt section is more forgiving. They really are great rods.

As is the Chimera 2.

Hi Nick

To be honest, I'll keep hold of it if I can't find a swap. It's a lovely rod and I'll find a use for it ;)
