Centre pin reel

Hey all, just purchased a lureflash shadowlanda centre pin reel from eBay, wanted to see what it's like using a centre pin, so I bought this cheap one, can anyone tell me if it comes with a line guard, or if I can get one for it? As I have not received it yet and can't find any info on it. Thanks

At that price you are lucky to get a reel seat let alone a line guard!:D I'd be interested to find out what it's like when you do receive it.

Lureflash

Lureflash tend to be at the budget end of the market but their stuff tends to do the job. Should be ok as long as your expectations aren't too high.

not a pretty reel ,nor a well built one (very flimsy internal parts) ,it maybe tin but its no tonka toy ,it has no line guard (one point in its favour) but it might have a anti-reverse (some do ,some dont but you''ll have no use for it ,well not much) as well as a ratchete .not the best trotting reels ,you'll need a bit of current too pull line of smoothly .but it will work and the retrieval rate is really good as they're usually 5" or 6" dia reels .on a good day with sufficiant flow it'll work just fine

use a big chubba or loafer if float fishing with it ,i wouldn't recommend ledgering with it ,due too the flimbsy internal ratchet/anti-reverse parts might not remain attached .oh and be carefull not too over tighten the centrol screw or it'll fall off .for once the cliche "you only get what you pay for" rings true .

just don't let this reel put you off .
