Carry Case for Drennan Acolyte Compact

Does anyone know where I might get a rod bag/carry case for a Drennan 13ft Acolyte Compact? The original is shaped so that it can be carried with a reel mounted (see photo) with the extension piece of the handle tucked in a pocket inside the case.

The zip has broken on mine and Drennan no longer have any spares for these. Unlike their specialist luggage the bit you pull on is plastic so probably never going to last long.

Any help or suggestions welcomed.
 
Would tying a bit of string to what's left of the zip work? I have done that successfully on a couple of old fishing bags over the years.

You could send the bag to BAS (Bespoke Angling Supplies) and get them to knock you up a new and improved version! Spk with Ronnee via their facebook page - quality kit - handmade in the UK (Leicester)
 
Back in the day they also sold a Series 7 rod (power carp waggler) in the same configuration. I sold mine 18 months ago.

You might find one of those and you could keep the bag and resell the rod ?

BTW the rod was good.

Split ring from a key ring works well John.
